The Path of Merit

Seethawana Aranya
A Vision for Solitude and Dhamma
A Vision for Solitude and Dhamma
For many years, the aspiration to establish a dedicated hermitage for forest-dwelling monks has been a guiding light. Our goal is to provide a serene environment where venerable monks can reside in solitude, fully committed to meditation and the longevity of the Sambuddha Sasana.
The Sacred Discovery
After a long search for land that aligns with strict monastic discipline (Vinaya), we have identified a 13-acre property that feels like a gift of past merit. This unique location offers:
Pindapata Accessibility:
Proximity to local villages suitable for the daily alms-round.
True Seclusion:
Positioned away from village boundaries to ensure undisturbed silence.
Ancient Heritage:
Bordering a strict nature reserve containing ancient stone caves with drip-ledges (Kataram) once used by Arahants.
Our Current Journey
We are currently in a critical window of time to secure this land for the Sasana. As our monks do not handle currency, this noble endeavor is being led by our dedicated lay custodians. The acquisition requires a total of 29 million rupees (2.9 Crore) to ensure this sacred space remains a permanent sanctuary for spiritual practice.
Share in the Merit
We invite you to be a part of this historic meritorious act. Supporting the creation of a forest hermitage is a profound service to the Dhamma that provides blessings for generations to come.
